I managed SwC’s exclusive Bitcointalk poker series, announced on May 22, 2025, and completed on June 23. The five-week, no-buy-in competition featured four group rounds and a grand final, with a combined scheduled prize pool of 9,000 SwC Bitcoin chips, equivalent to 0.009 BTC.
Five weeks of no-buy-in poker, featuring 9,000 SwC chips across the scheduled tournament prize pools.
The client’s goal
SwC wanted to connect with Bitcointalk’s poker community and encourage members to experience its platform. The series gave players a reason to return each week, building familiarity with SwC through an organized community competition.
The approach
I structured the series around four Monday group rounds, each offering 1,000 chips, followed by a 5,000-chip grand final for the six qualifying players. Free entry removed the buy-in barrier, while forum eligibility checks and password-protected access kept the events focused on the intended community.
What I managed
I handled the discussion thread, registration openings, player lists and tournament communications. I coordinated access by sending passwords privately before each event, managed qualification for the final and retained decision-making responsibility for potential conflicts. I also communicated results and arranged additional BSOP ticket opportunities.
Results and evidence
The series completed all four group rounds and its grand final. My closing announcement recorded Koceila receiving 4,000 chips and Improved receiving 1,000 chips from the final’s prize pool. It also documented ten free BSOP tickets awarded to community members, with recipients and their assigned events listed publicly.
Campaign details
The closing week created a bridge to SwC’s wider tournament calendar. After the community series finished, I directed attention toward the Bitcoin Series of Poker and its free ticket opportunities. This gave members another route to participate on the platform beyond the original five-week competition, while leaving open the possibility of a future community series.
