Review and Bug Detection Campaign

Omnisee Bug Hunt Campaign | Two Rounds of Community Testing

Completed · Launched 2026-04-13 · Ended 2026-05-20

I managed two bug bounty rounds for Omnisee on Bitcointalk, inviting community members to test its Bitcoin intelligence platform and report problems. Each round had an approximate $1,000 budget, supporting a combined $2,000 allocation for community-led testing.

The client’s goal

Omnisee wanted to identify issues that could affect everyday use, from broken links and display errors to more serious functional problems. The goal was to gather practical feedback from people exploring the platform across different browsers and usage scenarios.

The approach

I gave participants a straightforward process: explore the application, identify an issue and submit a report with reproduction steps or screenshots. Rewards followed severity categories—$0.50–$1 for minor issues, $5–$10 for major issues and $20–$50 for critical bugs. Valuable suggestions could also receive a discretionary reward.

What I managed

I coordinated the campaign threads, reporting instructions, participant questions and submission review. Working with Omnisee’s management, I assessed report categories and reward eligibility, checked for duplicate findings and maintained the information needed to organize rewards.

Results and evidence

The campaign ran across two separate rounds, with screenshots preserving the reporting rules, reward tiers and second-round announcement. Although Bitcointalk later removed the original threads, archive references remain available for both topics. These records document the campaign structure and its continuation into a second round.

Campaign details

This project gave the community a role beyond discovering Omnisee—they could contribute to improving it. The reporting scope welcomed both everyday usability observations and technical findings, making participation accessible to different experience levels. Requiring one issue per report helped keep submissions focused and easier to assess.
