Bitcointalk is the oldest and most visited cryptocurrency forum in the world. The forum was created by Bitcoin's creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, to unite all Bitcoin enthusiasts in one place. It has a rich history and culture surrounding Bitcoin, making it an authentic source of knowledge for cryptocurrencies. Nearly all visitors of Bitcointalk are cryptocurrency users. For any business that accepts cryptocurrency, these visitors represent some of the most promising leads for their business growth. With an effective marketing strategy, the expertise of an experienced Bitcointalk campaign manager, and a commitment to professionalism, your business can become a leader in its own industry using the potential of Bitcointalk community.
Did You Know?
The industry-leading brands Primedice, Stake, Sportsbet, Chiрмixеr, along with many others, all began their marketing promotions within the Bitcointalk community.
On average, Bitcointalk receives over 1.5 million monthly visits* and has more than 3.6 million registered members. While there are no publicly available statistics of active members, even a 1% of total number of members would indicate that Bitcointalk has over 36,000 active members.
The official topic created for Primedice has received over 1,900,000 visits, while the official topic for Stake has also garnered over 270,000 visits and Sporstbet has received over 400,000 visits. Additionally, the Wall Observer topic has accumulated over 26,000,000 visits. Here, you can find publicly available statistics , although they are not regularly updated.
* To give you an idea of how many monthly visitors are on Bitcointalk, think about the populations of countries like Estonia, Cyprus, Bahrain, Fiji, Guyana, Luxembourg. Bitcointalk has more monthly visitors than the total number of people in some of these countries.
Every post on the Bitcointalk forum contains vital information about the forum member, including their username, rank, total number of posts, avatar, and personal text with a signature banner at the bottom of the post. Let’s examine the image above. The forum username is AB de Royse777, rank is Legendary, total number of posts is 10,251. The avatar features advertising for R7 Promotions, the personal text promotes the @Royse777 Telegram contact, and the signature advertises Stake (Latest update**: Currently advertising BetFury).
Unlike other elements, forum members have the ability to customize their avatar, personal text, and signature banner. Each time they make a post, this information is displayed based on their preferences. For example, the user AB de Royse777, which is my profile, has created 10,251 posts, all posts showcasing the same three pieces of information. Each new post I create also includes the same details. My posts are distributed across various boards within the forum. When someone views my posts, they see my avatar, personal text, and signature banner along with the post content. It presents a valuable opportunity for brands to convey their messages through the advertising space provided for Bitcointalk users.
Note: The signature banner is not an graphical image like the avatar; it is created using BBCode and requires a BBCode designer. The BBCode for the signature link is a do-follow link, which search engines notice. Over time, this helps your brand show up more on search engine results pages (SERP).
IndustryThe modern merchandising strategy for effectively engaging target audiences involves the use of product placement techniques, rather than relying on traditional advertising methods. This approach, commonly referred to as embedded marketing, which mainly embeds your brand seamlessly within another medium. In movies, you may have noticed actors consuming Coca-Cola beverages, Tom Cruise wearing Ray-Ban's Wayfarer sunglasses in Risky Business, and the presence of Monster energy drink in The Hangover. These are excellent examples of product placement.
The product placement of Mini Coopers in the remake of 1969’s movie The Italian Job (2003) worked like a charm even though the movie was moderately successful. The car experienced a 22% increase in sales over the privious year. Moive critic Stephanie Zacarek’s statement was, “the real star of The Italian Job is not a person but a car”
A signature campaign closely resembles product placement or embedded marketing. In this strategy, your brand is prominently displayed across forum boards while members engage in various discussions. As forum members contribute to conversations on various topics and create posts, your brand appears alongside their messages.
There are no specific numbers of posts that the forum generates each week but from active users and top posters of bitcointalk statistics page you can get an idea of the numbers. On your right, you can see the total number of posts made by forum users in a random week, along with the different rank groups, starting from Copper Member rank to Administrator.
Every week active members make around 10 to 50 or more posts on the forum. If I consider my profile, I make around 25 to 50 posts all over the forum. My total number of posts from the previous time is 10,251. Now consider in your campaign we hired 30 members each of whom have on average 5,000 posts from their past. They are asked to get paid for 25 posts per week (additional posts being voluntary). Your brand can expect to receive a total of 150,750 banner impressions in the first week of the signature campaign. This is calculated as follows: (30 members × 5,000 previous posts) + (30 members × 25 compensated posts).
While the objective may appear to focus on maximizing impressions such as achieving 150,750 banner impressions in the first week and 151,500 in the second week and so on; it is crucial to recognize that simply incentivizing participation with monetary rewards, such as offering $10 to receive low cost impressions from members, may not yield the desired results. In reality, the most effective campaign participants are those Bitcointalk members who possess significant influence within the community, earning the respect of their opinions and fostering constructive dialogue.
Influential members share a lot of helpful topics that are great references for Bitcoin and cryptocurrency news articles. One famous example is "Pizza for Bitcoins" by forum member laszlo, which tells the story of laszlo paying 10,000 bitcoins for two pizzas. Another example is "I AM HODLING" from member GameKyuubi, which created the well-known term "HODL".
Having influential members in your signature campaign is like having them represent your brand. When your brand comes up in discussions, these members recommend it and share their positive opinions. They also help defend your brand if any complaints or issues arise. All of it works like a celebrity influencer promoting a big brand. Similar to product placement, a signature campaign boosts your brand recognition within the Bitcointalk community. It eventually influences visitors' perceptions about your brand and increases your sales.
Your objective isn't to get clicks or have a lot of impressions on your signature banner. Instead, you want to create a long lasting, positive impression just like product placement advertising for your brand. This will make potential customers want to buy what you offer. They will easily remember your brand and think of it first. Customers will also want to experience your product or service to feel a connection with your brand.
Major brands invest substantial sums of money for their businesses to be featured in media placements. Although the costs associated with product placement can be significant, the potential return of investment is even greater. Ray-Ban’s Wayfarer sunglasses were saved from extinction because Tom Cruise’s character Joel was wearing Ray-Ban’s Wayfarer sunglasses. The sunglasses became so popular that 360,000 pears were sold in the year 1983.
Sinьаd was one of the high-paying and fastest-growing campaigns I managed. About 45 to 50 forum members took part in the campaign. The weekly budget was between $4,000 and $5,000. You can check the archived PDF for week 53 of the campaign to see the weekly expenses and the number of members who joined in that particular week.
I also manage a campaign with a weekly budget of $500. However, a signature campaign with a budget of $1,000 to $1,500 per week is a good start for a new business. If a startup has a big budget for advertising and wants quick results, they can choose higher budgets like Sinьаd, Stake which has around $7,000 per week, Chiрмixеr which had over $14,000 per week.
In this example, you can see the weekly transaction statement of a campaign. It started with money received upfront for a few weeks, and then the expenses were refilled every two weeks to keep the campaign going.
To run a successful campaign over time, it’s important to plan your budget each week. Once you share your budget with me, I can work out to decide:
I also have a team that can create graphics for the campaign banner, announcement topic design, prepare BBCode signature banner with avatar, to ensure your campaign run smoothly.
Some Bitcointalk signature campaign facts
Last year I managed a review campaign for Tumbler startup. The campaign had two phases [1] [2] and lasted about three weeks. There were 20 spots in each phase, plus 2 additional spots in the second phase. Each reviewer got paid 0.006 BTC (about $100 at that time). If a review was very helpful for Tumbler’s management, then that reviewer received 0.01 BTC instead. The total budget for the campaign was around $5,000 and reviewers also received up to a 50% discount on мixing fees for lifetime service.
The review went very well. Tumbler got over 40 helpful feedback from experienced мixеr users, which really supported the brand. They also gained more than 40 loyal users who kept using the мixеr because of the discount code. These users became spokespeople for the brand, discussing about it on the forum whenever they had opportunity. Tumbler improved their service based on the feedback from the community. The benefits they gained were much greater than the $5,000 they spent.
I’ve added the spreadsheet for phase one below so you can see some reviews for yourself.
A review campaign can help you understand how well your brand will connect with the community. The members who test your system can become loyal customers and supporters of the brand. Their feedback can help you improve your system, which can make the experience better for your regular customers. This feedback can also help you make smarter business decisions.
Most of my clients begin their signature campaigns with a review campaign as an additional way to receive attention for their brand. This review campaign lasts three to four weeks and helps create a strong foundation before the main signature campaign starts impacting the community. Usually, a review campaign needs a budget of $500 to $2,500 or more. You can launch a review campaign anytime, like when you add a new feature and want to see how it works. MegaPari is one of the brands who launched three review campaigns so far.
The official topic on Bitcointalk, also called the Announcement topic, is a great way to share information about your brand and what you offer. This topic acts as your main place to talk with potential customers in the community. You can link it to your website, so people can easily find it and read the discussions.
Forum members and potential customers can ask questions and share their opinons, experiences on this topic, and you can respond to them to build strong relationships. Existing customers can share their experience anytime, and new visitors can find all the information they need in one place from the trusted source.
You can translate the same topic into different local languages and share it on local boards to attract local members. It’s a good idea to use a mix of pictures and text in your announcement topic to catch the attention of members and visitors.
I have a translation team that can help translate your topic, update the graphics, and format it using BBCode. The Cryptomus announcement topic is a great example of a simple announcement topic, so is BetFury annoucment topic, 1Win annoucment topic. My campaign management topic is an example of a complex annoucment topic though.
It is best if the official account of your company posts the topic to build a direct connection with the community. However, in special cases like Cryptomus, I can post the topic on behalf of your team.
To introduce your brand in the Bitcointalk community, you first need an official topic. Once you have that, you can start a signature campaign to promote your brand for building a good, lasting impression. At the start, a review campaign can help support your signature campaign. In short, using a signature campaign along with a review campaign is an excellent planning to advertise your brand in front of the over 1.5 million people who visit Bitcointalk every month.
The strategy works well, and many successful brands from this community have used it to become leaders in their industries. For example, Primedice, Stake, Sportsbet, and Chiрмixеr have all done this. More recent brands like BetFury, 1Win, Metawin, Shuffle, Exch, Duelbits, BestChange, мixеro, Playgram, Gamegram and many others are also following the same strategy. The result is veisible. All these brands are well-know to cryptocurrency users.
There are other types of campaigns that are popular and can work well on their own or alongside your existing marketing strategy. Many brands don’t have a big budget for marketing or can’t spend even $500 one time on a review campaign. They focus on the small income from the sales they make and reuse that money to invest in marketing as they grow.
Some of the following campaigns are a good option for them to stay in front of potential customers. Brands with larger budgets can also benefit from these campaigns, especially if they already have a review campaign and a signature campaign that are working parallelly.
Sponsor a forum event
DGbet is a decentralized, non-custodial, and fully on-chain prediction market platform. A few months ago, they contacted me to help with their marketing. There were some communication gaps because I was hospitalized for a few weeks, so they had already started a low-budget signature campaign with another manager. After I recovered the communication restablished, they wanted to do a second signature campaign with me, but the budget allocation was low again, which wouldn't really help the marketing. So, we figured out that they sponsor a poker event instead of the signature campaign.
At first, a few tournaments didn't go well, but then things started to improve. Now, every week we get around 50 players for DGbet Poker Night. Each tournament offers a guaranteed prize of a $5 free bet for everyone, with a total prize pool of up to $500 in free bets. New players are joining the platform to use the free bets, and many of them become customers for DGbet. To receive these customers regularly, except the service fee for hosting the tournaments, DGbet basically spending no real money at all in such campaigns.
Additionally, I created a special dedicated discussion topic for the Poker Night on the forum with a new topic everweek to receive POA information from the players. Usually, according to the forum rules each brand can have one main topic which is the official topic, but we were able to create another dedicated discussion topic + an additional topic everyweek to post POA.
Note: Topics on bitcointalk are highly search engine friendly to optimize your brand's rank on SERP.
Sportsbet is the brand who is taking the advantage of sponsoring forum events on a massive scale. They are already big so they can regularly sponsor different forum events and can create new topics to get more exposure. Some examples: Premier league football pool, LaLiga football pool, Italian Serie A football pool and many other hundrads of sponsorships and topics.
Periodic price prediction
A Bitcoin price prediction game is popular on cryptocurrency forums like Bitcointalk and Altcoinstalks. In this game, the winner is chosen based on the Bitcoin price at 23:59 UTC on a specific day. There will be a certain number of winners who share the prize pool. Brands can use these prediction contests to promote themselves to attract target audience at a low cost. You can run these contests weekly or monthly.
мixеro has been sponsoring a monthly $500 prize pool for bitcoin price prediction on Altcointalks since they launched their signature campaign with me. As example: мixеro Bitcoin price prediction October 2024 edition. Another example is the Sinьаd Bitcoin price prediction on Bitcointalk. Since they started, I have helped them host the price prediction contest every month. They spent 10 mBTC each month for the contest.
I have many more ideas to help keep your brand in front of the audience. You can set your own budget. Even spending $50 a week or a month to reward contest participants can help people remember your brand easily.
Read my mind, Sponsoring Pizza day celebration, DgBet Premier League Goal Prediction Discussion, Empire.io wagering competition, Winz.io Guess the total win in the slot, Coins.Game Exclusive Crash Contest and many other examples I can show you if you are interested.
Keep in mind that you need to be consistent with these contests and competitions. You can do it by yourself, but having an experienced manager like me to manage the campaign can make a big difference. We understand the situation and know how to make changes to get the best results from the community.

There is a substantial amount of feedback on the feedback page of my Bitcointalk profile. The examples provided above represent just a few of the feedback received. On Bitcointalk, we do not solicit feedback; members voluntarily share their opinions, reflecting unbiased opinion. This approach is often more authentic than reviews from platforms like TrustPilot.
